A Happy Bride Shares Her Thoughts

The following are quotes from two emails I received from Nicole, a bride who married at the Don Cesar in June of this year. A few of her images are posted in a July Blog entry but here is what she wrote to me:

"Sheri, I just adore the photos. We are so excited, because these few are already so beautiful. WOW....the kiss picture is amazing! We can't thank you enough and look forward to viewing the others (450!!!!) :) Also, I sent the blog to the family as well, and, same response....you are a photographic genius!!
Truly, they are beautiful!"

thank you enough, and these are the raw photos! :) ...
We thank you again, they are beautiful!"

Little Miss Sunshine Visits EFP ...

I have to say I can't think of a better place to start a child's first birthday than in front of a camera. :-) Bonnie called me several weeks in advance to assure I'd be available and I am so glad she did. Mike's parents and Bonnie's mom all came together to celebrate Julie-Anne's birthday together. I have to tell you that little girl is loved! What a joy to watch everybody interact. We started the session at a park downtown and then went to the studio for some relief from the hot, humid weather. We were able to utilize the front of the studio on the side-walk, which was great. When we started to sweat, we just went inside to cool off. Inside our studio, I photographed Julie-Anne using only window light. Bonnie picked out some ultra-soft pink fabric from our collection to complement the chocolate brown walls and I had a great pink hat and scarf to play with too. The session ended with Julie-Anne eating a cake Bonnie made using only wholesome, organic ingredients. Julie-Anne was precious. Here are my favorite pics ...

The Girlie Show: Mermaids, And Voodoo Girls, And Rubber Band Girls, Oh My!

Sometimes you just need a little something different to keep life interesting and The Girlie Show was just that for me! The Girlie Show is a funny, far-out musical featuring a "ringmaster" (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) who introduces each of his uniquely talented "ladies" (wink, wink, nudge, nudge). There is a ton of very adult inuendos and adult language so it is not for everyone but if you like crazy, over-the-top humor, you should definitely make it a point to see this one.
The young women in the show (and young man) are incredibly talented. The singing was fabulous. Really, girls, well done.
The Girlie Show was produced by Glenn Grieves and Jamieson Lindenburg and featured a handful of young adults from Saint Petersburg, although most of them have re-located to other cities to pursue their acting/singing careers and were just home for the summer. One of the girls, Michelle Dowdy, is now an understudy for the lead role in the NYC Broadway musical, "Hairspray." Not too shabby.
And I can't write about the show and not mention the band, led by Dyllan Glathorn. There was so much talent in the band. Truly excellent!
The whole thing came together and made me forget I was in little 'ole St. Pete.
The Girlie Show is now playing at Studio @ 620 in downtown Saint Petersburg. I know that several of the 8 o'clock shows are sold out but if you're interested, do check at their website, http://www.studio620.org/620/girlieshow08.php for availability. The last show is August 16, at midnight.
If you are unfamiliar with Studio @ 620, I am thrilled you are hearing about it first here. Located at 620 1st Avenue South, the Studio is a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching our community with diverstiy and the arts.
Many thanks to Jordan Stovall for introducing me to your fellow actor and producer friends and THANK YOU so much Glenn for inviting me to be a part of such a fun experience. You both made me feel much appreciated and I really did have a blast photographing the show.
To the cast and crew: I will be posting all the images I took in a password protected area of my website so please contact me if you want to view entire collection.
*** Be sure to check out the comment by one of the producers
posted at the bottom of this entry.***

Home Sweet Home

I just walked in the door a little while ago from the airport. I was away at a business "boot camp" in Atlanta. It was a great class with some agonizing moments scattered about in mostly great moments. My accountant accompanied me to be my "interpreter" of the financial/accounting portion of the class. We had a great time and met some wonderful photographers but I have to say it is wonderful to be home!! I really REALLY missed my family. This was the first time being away from Molly and it's been a long time since I've been away from Jaeden and Ingmar. I could NOT wait to get through the door. I went into Jaeden's room to give him some sleepy kisses that I doubt he'll remember. Then, I went to see my Molly bean. I couldn't help myself ... I had to pick her up and love on her. Yes, I woke a sleeping baby! Ingmar woke up too to greet me. I'm happy to be home. I'm exhausted and stoked and full of new ideas and information and man, I'm exhausted. Why am I not in bed? It's nearly 2 a.m. and I do need some sleep but I sat down to check emails at my computer and next thing you know, I am Blogging.
Tomorrow, I hit the ground running and I won't stop running until late Sunday. Fun stuff though. I'm photograhing The Girlie Show's dress rehearsal at Studio at 620 tomorrow night. My images will be displayed via slideshow preceding each performance. Here is a link to more info: http://www.studio620.org/620/girlieshow08.php. I haven't been yet but rumor has it that it is quite a show. I'm really looking forward to that. I'll be photographing a live show Saturday night.
I have a photo session with a dear client out a the beach on their wedding anniversary and a session with baby Julie-anne, who is turning one on Friday. I can't believe it. It seems like just yesterday they brought her in for her newborn pictures. I'm totally looking forward to meeting some new clients this weekend as well. Yay!
Well, I guess I better get some sleep if I am to keep up with what is in store the next few days.
Signing off for now...

Meghan's Senior Photos

The following images are of a lovely, vibrant young lady, Meghan. She came all the way from Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, to have her senior pictures done in sunny Florida. No, just kidding. She was actually here visiting her aunt and uncle (& my friends) Chuck and Phyllis. Chuck was one of my instructors way back in the day when I was learning how to skydive in Zephyrhills. It was so great to see them again and to meet Meghan. We really had a blast doing these photographs. Meghan is beautiful and has a soft, sweet spirit ... you can't help but fall in love with her. Congratulations Meghan on making it to your last year in high school and may you enjoy a lifetime of success on your journey.
